"Dear Franie""Just a little time before dark, maybe fifteen minutes. ...Almost the middle of May already as a coupla days ago marked up the two year mark for some of us."
"An da war in Europe is over according to the radios, about the only comment I heard at first when it was announced was "About time!" Don't know what they think back there but nobody gave much of a damn for celebrating here although all are glad some of it's done."
"Hope you don't mind not hearing very often but that's the way it is, so Franie maybe you understand."
"...it seems I have everything to wait for. Still an awful lot to make up for, all of which makes for a busy Wick & Fran."
" 'Nuff O' this, goodnite Franie"
